Kagi Kagi no Mi (Key)
Devil Fruit, Uncommon
Type. Substance Generator Paramecia
Fruit appearance. A golden lock shaped fruit with the stem forming the handle, dark gray swirls go around the fruit except the center which is a black keyhole symbol.
Description. Grants the user the ability to create and manipulate keys, making them a Key Human. The user can use these keys to unlock or lock any lock, as well as create weapons made of keys.
Sea Weakness. You are weak to water and seastone.
Key Creation. As an action, you can create a key that can open a single mundane door, lid, or lock that you can see and touch within 5 feet. The key can be any shape or size you choose, as long as it fits into the lock and isn’t larger than 5 feet in length. This key only work on standard locks, and does not allow you to unlock more complex doors, contraptions or magical devices.
Master Key. As an action, you spend 3 devil fruit charges to create a Master Key, which disappears after 1 minute has passed. When you attempt to unlock, disable, or otherwise manipulate any contraption that would require thieves tools or a single unlocking device, you automatically succeed on any checks with the master key. Once this master key is used, it is destroyed.
Key Blade. As an action, you can target a single melee weapon you are proficient with your devil fruit powers. It now becomes a “Key” weapon, which can bypass any resistance to nonmagical damage from the selected weapon’s damage type. You can only have one Key weapon at a time, and any time you create a new Key weapon, any previous Key weapons you have made revert back to their original form and properties.
Spells (Key Techniques). This devil fruit power has 5 charges. You can expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it without needing to expend material components: Magic Keychain (as Magic Misile; 1 charge, and can cast at higher levels by spending additional charges), Arcane Lock (2 charges), Knock (2 charges), or Glyph of Warding (3 charges). The devil fruit regains expended charges daily at dawn.
Awakening (Key Swarm). Once you’ve awakened your power, you can use an action to create a massive swarm of keys in a 60-foot radius centered on you. The area becomes difficult terrain, and any creature of your choice within the area which enters the area for the first time during its turn or starts its turn in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Devil Fruit save DC. On a failure, the creature takes 2d6 force damage and is stunned until the start of its next turn, becoming “Locked” for the duration. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and is not stunned. A creature can repeat this save at the end of each of its turns. The swarm lasts for 1 minute or until you fall unconscious. After using this ability, you can’t use it again for another 24 hours.
