Tendri Tendri no Mi (Tendrils)

Devil Fruit, Uncommon

Type. Substance Generator Paramecia

Fruit appearance. A deep purple banana covered in black swirls.

Description. Grants the user the ability to grow and manipulate long, flexible tendrils from any part of their body, allowing for grappling, reaching distant objects, or delivering powerful whip-like strikes.

Sea Weakness. You are weak to water and seastone.

Tendril Growth. As an action, you can sprout tendrils from any part of your body, which last for 1 minute or until you are knocked unconscious. These tendrils can extend up to 15 feet from your body. These tendrils can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, and pick up or set down a Tiny object. They can retract or be dismissed as a free action.

Whip Strike. As a bonus action, you can use your tendrils to lash out at a creature within 15 feet of you. Make a melee Devil Fruit spell attack against the target, dealing 1d8 in bludgeoning damage on a hit.

Grasping Tendrils. You can use your tendrils to grapple an opponent within 15 feet as a bonus action as per grappling rules. When you successfully grapple a target, you can also restrain it until the end of your next turn or until your grapple is broken.

Spells (Tendril Techniques). This devil fruit power has 5 charges. You can expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it without needing to expend material components: Arms of Hadar (Deals bludgeoning damage; 1 charge, and can cast at higher levels by spending additional charges), or Evard’s Black Tentacles (fills a 10-foot square instead; 3 charges). The devil fruit regains expended charges daily at dawn.

Awakening (Tendril Hell). Once you’ve awakened your power, you can use an action to cause tendrils to erupt from the ground within a 60-foot radius centered on you. For 1 minute or until you fall unconscious, the area becomes covered in Evard’s Black Tentacles. You and your allies are unaffected by the tentacles. You can’t use this action again for another 24 hours.
