Gami Gami No Mi (Origami)

Devil Fruit, Rare

Type. Environment Alterer Paramecia

Fruit appearance. A pale, folded fruit with an ornate polygonal shape. The fruit’s stem appears twisted, like a thin strip of folded paper.

Description. This unique devil fruit grants the user the artistry of origami on a grand and magical scale, allowing them to fold and manipulate objects and creatures as if they were paper, as well as turn their own body into a paper-like form.

Sea Weakness. You are weak to water and seastone.

Paper Folding. As an action, you can touch a creature and force it to make a Constitution saving throw against your Devil Fruit save DC. On a failure, it is folded in half like paper causing it to become incapacitated for 1 minute. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Origami Forms. As an action, you can touch an allied creature or yourself and transform the target into an origami form for 1 minute, or until you or the creature transform back using a bonus action. You can choose one of the following origami forms which gives its own benefits (doesn’t stack):

  • Paper Plane: When you fall at least 10 feet above the ground, you can use your reaction to extend your paper wings to glide horizontally a number of feet equal to your walking speed, and you take 0 damage from the fall. You determine the direction of the glide.

  • Paper Boat: You can float and walk on water at a speed equal to your walking speed.

  • Paper Frog: Your long jump is up to 20 feet and your high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start.

  • Paper Elephant: You gain a 10 temporary hit points.

  • Paper Fox: You gain a +10 feet bonus to your walking speed.

Spells (Origami Techniques). This devil fruit power has 9 charges. You can expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it without needing to expend material components: Find Familiar (Origami-Themed Familiar; 1 charge), Paper Fall (Feather Fall; 1 charge), Paper Wings (Fly; Self; 3 charges), Fabricate (folding objects into new shapes; 4 charges), Origami Hand (as Bigby’s Hand but made of origami paper; 5 charges). The devil fruit regains expended charges daily at dawn.

Awakening (Origami Vortex). Once you’ve awakened your power, you can use an action to cast Whirlwind, without expending a spell slot or material components, as origami birds emerge and create a vortex of wind. Additionally, you and allied creatures within 300 feet of you grow paper wings and gain 60 feet of flying speed for the duration of Whirlwind (and do not take fall damage if they fall immediately after this ability is used). You can’t use this action again for another 24 hours.
